Blackchurch Rock, North Devon, October 2023
A single dramatic subject on the North Devon coast at Mouthmill, west of Clovelly: a triangular slab of layered rock, cracked through by a narrow sea arch, rising sharply against the sky. Low tide left the arch reflected in a shallow pool at its base. A wave crashing against the boulders nearby, the ribboned strata of the surrounding cliffs and a small waterfall tumbling down the headland rounded out the visit.
The coastline itself, folded and green, stretches away towards Clovelly in the distance: the wide shot that closes the set.
