Wembury, near Plymouth, Devon, 2026
Wembury is a small village on the South Devon coast, a few miles east of Plymouth, looking out across the bay to the Mew Stone, a rocky islet just offshore. Rough seas sent waves crashing over the foreshore rocks and against the red cliffs further along the coast, while up in the village the church tower stands above a cluster of old cottages and a pebble beach. Oystercatchers worked the tideline between the breaking waves, and a lone bodyboarder waited out in the swell for the next set.
