Poole Harbour, Dorset, 2026

Poole Harbour on the Dorset coast is one of the largest natural harbours in the world, its mudflats and heathland edges drawing oystercatchers, gulls and smaller heathland birds. Oystercatchers were the main subject here, caught foraging along the mudflats and in flight low over the water, alongside a gull seen catching a crab, a wide view of a fishing boat out on the harbour, and a handful of heathland close-ups: bracken, flowering heather and a stonechat.
